INVITATION TO BID

The Town of Concord, acting through the Town Manager’s Office, will receive sealed, written bids at the office of the Concord Public Works, Highway and Grounds Division, 135 Keyes Rd, Concord, MA  01742, for BID # 2136, 2018-2019 ANNUAL MATERIALS AND SERVICES, until 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at which time they shall be publicly opened and read aloud.

The work under this contract shall consist of the following items:

ITEM A - Bituminous Concrete Materials

ITEM B - Infrared Patching of Roads and Sidewalks

ITEM C - Guardrail Removal and Replacement

ITEM D - Crack Filling and Seal Coating the 133, 135, and 141 Keyes Road Parking Lot

Bids must be enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing the name and address of the Bidder and addressed to the Highway and Grounds Assistant Superintendent.  Bids must be submitted to the Highway and Grounds Division between the hours of 7:00AM and 3:30PM, Monday through Friday excluding holidays.  All bids must be submitted on the forms included in the specifications and “Bid # 2136, 2018-2019 Annual Materials and Services, Item (A, B, C, and/or D)” must be marked on the outside of the envelope. 

A bid deposit in the form of a bid bond, or certified check, or cashier's check issued by a responsible bank or trust company, payable to the Town of Concord shall accompany the bids.  The bid bond shall be (1) in a form satisfactory to the Town, (2) with a surety company qualified to do business in the Commonwealth and satisfactory to the Town and (3) conditioned upon the faithful performance by the principal of the agreements contained in the bid.  The amount of the bid deposit shall be at least equal to 5% of the total amount of the bid.

Prevailing Wage Rates as determined by the Division of Occupational Safety under the provisions of M.G.L Chapter 149, Sections 26 and 27D, as amended, apply to this bid. It is a responsibility of the contractor to obtain, as necessary, any pertinent information on Prevailing Wages for workers employed for the proposed work under this contract.

The Town of Concord reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality and to make the award as may be deemed to be in the best interest of the Town.  Those who enter into contractual obligation with the Town must not discriminate against qualified, handicapped individuals in their employment decisions.
